Mark Weirich Architect, Inc. To provide excellent personal attention to all individuals or groups interested in creating a design team with MWA, Inc. Because of the small size of the office Mark is involved with all design decisions, details and their transition from your mind to the builders hands.

MWA, Inc. is open to all types of architecture that revolves around quality design. The past decade has seen Mark primarily involved with high-end residential projects, based on historical precedents found in western mountain and ranch settings. Materials have often included; stone, hand-hewn log, round log, rough-sawn timber, plaster, stucco and barn wood. Recently Mark has also been involved with several commercial projects on Main Streets of small Montana towns. These projects require a keen eye for proportion and scale in order for the project to fit with the historical surroundings.

Mark has always been inspired by high alpine chalet type architecture. Recently, on a trip to Europe he had the chance to tour the Haute Route from Chamonix, France to Zermatt, Switzerland. Every evening included a stay at a chalet or "haute" nestled in the rocks among the glaciers above 10,000 feet. To think these buildings were constructed prior to the advent of the helicopter is simply amazing. These chalets are truly the antithesis of high alpine architecture.

Mark also has an appreciation for structural and environmental systems. If an industrial feel is desirable in a project, these systems can step forward and provide interesting units of rhythm and sculptural qualities. MWA, Inc. works closely with all consultants and designers in these fields to provide the best product possible.
